Sharing a Pizza With a Friend.

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Yesterday I was dog-tired. Apparently so was Lucie my big, red dog. (No pun intended.) I also was hungry as a dog. (Man, I am on a roll.) I pulled a frozen pizza out of the frig. It was one of those private label pizzas one can buy at the local grocery store. The pizza was not as big as a normal pizza and I think it was intended for two people. Covered in mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and other assorted veggies the pizza was just what I was craving after all the holidays filled with turkey, ham, and stuffing. You see, I could probably eat pizza everyday. I love it. My butt on the other hand, not so much.

Anyway, I only intended to eat half of the pizza. Of course, I shared the crust ends with Lucie. She and I have a food understanding. If she does not beg then she receives the last bite. It is a win, win situation for both of us.

When I was done with the first half of the pizza, it was clear to me that I was still hungry. Lucie is always willing to eat. No news there. So, I scooped up the other half, sat down to one of my favorite TV shows and ate the rest.

Mmmmm. So good.

Afterwards I did something I rarely do. I took a nap. A nice, long two-hour nap. Of course, Lucie joined me in this endeavor. Lucie takes naps all the time. Day, night and even as I write this post, she is napping.

Here she is taking a last lick of my hand. Probably going for stray pizza juices.

Mere seconds before falling asleep. Sweet dreams sweet pea.

Seeking Butts and Trash Can Delicacies.

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

So, I was at work today and I went outside on my break. I was by myself for a few minutes. A man who works in my building walked out the door. He did not see me standing there. He then proceeded to walk over to the ashtray and what I saw next totally ruined my day. He bent over and started going through the cigarette butts and then selected one. He whipped out his lighter and LIT the butt. Egads!

Ok, I know tobacco is expensive, but you do not know whose lips was on the butt dude! So as he is puffing along, he turns and sees me standing there. Then he turns and heads towards the other side of the building. Embarrassed? I have know idea. All I know is I did not need that image in my mind.

Here is another gross out story for you since I’m on the subject. Corvette told me that there is a guy at his work that waits until everyone leaves the breakroom and then proceeds to rummage through the garbage can for food. Yes, you did read that right. Now, this guy is certainly not a homeless person, he is a machinist for crying out loud! I know he makes a pretty good living and I am sure he can afford to buy his own food. I guess it takes all kinds. Corvette said he is also overweight. Maybe it is the extra trash can calories.

Apparently, everyone at the shop knows what this guy does. One time they purposely threw out some pizza and then just sat back waiting to see what he would do. Sure enough, when he thought no one was looking he snuck in the breakroon and snagged the pizza.

Mean? Maybe, but they are a bunch of machinists with not enough to do. I guess making precision parts does not always float their boats.

TeleCooking

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

In all honesty, I have to say that I am a food fanatic. I love cooking; therefore it could come as no surprise I love to watch food shows. They come in all varieties; I started out watching basic cooking shows. I learned a great recipe here and there, a new way to prepare French bread pizza, the usual. It didn’t occur to me that I could turn TV cooking shows into so much more than entertainment. Seems like common sense, but I never decided to try the recipes I was watching. Eventually I got the brilliant idea to try to cook some of the food I saw on my food shows while watching them on satellite TV with NV direct tv channels. The results were more than spectacular, they were delicious. Not only was it a blast imitating my favorite food stars on Television, but I got to enjoy a delicious new recipe afterwards. Honestly, I enjoy cooking recipes while watching them on TV so much, I do it every Sunday. It started as a hobby and has turned into something much more. My friends and family have mysteriously began to spend Sunday afternoons at home these days, coincidence – I think not. We now officially call my new hobby of cooking while watching food shows “TeleCooking”. It might sound funny but it sure is fun and nobody is complaining about the great SoufflĂ© I just made!

It is Pizza Time!

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Freschetta. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love, love, love pizza! I could eat pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I frequently do. People at work are always laughing at me because I like to bring pizza to eat for breakfast. One woman had a jar of candy on her desk for quite some time. I never ate any because I am not am not a candy person. As far as that goes, I do not much care for any sweets. I told the woman with the candy if that was a jar of pizza, it would be empty because as I said. I love pizza.

Freschetta FlatBread Pizza is one of my favorites. I like to get pizza on Fridays, sit back, and indulge while watching a movie. Then on Saturday morning, I like to get up and have more while watching all my favorite reality shows.

I enjoy the Zesty Italian. The pizza is topped with sausage, pepperoni, salami, mozzarella and asiago cheese. It really is the perfect blend of toppings. The Pepperoni has huge pieces of pepperoni along with mozzarella and fontina cheeses. There is also Roasted Garlic & Spinach topped with garlic, spinach, parmesan and mozzarella cheeses. I plan to try this one next because it sounds so yummy! There is also 5-Cheese and it is topped with provolone, mozzarella, asiago, parmesan and romano cheeses. This is a cheese lover’s dream!

If you love pizza as much as I do go online right now and grab a coupon for a $1 off a Freschetta Flatbread Pizza. You will not be sorry and I sure your family will love this pizza too.

All this talk about pizza is making me hungry. I may have to pick up a Freschetta Flatbread Pizza tonight!
