See How My Garden Grows – Summer Series
I have to preface this a few words – I am tired of living in HELL. I spent countless hours trying to grow my garden and I barely get anything out of it. Numerous hours watering, tons of time planting and care taking and this is all I get
Two cucumbers and three tomatoes, that should be bigger. Those are supposed to be Beefstake people! Yes, the cucumbers are big, but why can’t the other veggies grow. I know, I live in HELL!!!
Sorry, just venting a bit. I usually do this post on Saturdays, but once again, life gets in the way.
Yea, sure it looks lush, but where is the veggies!
I decided to thin out the cucumber since they tried to take over.
The peppers have plenty of flowers and hopefully they will actually turn into peppers.
Here is a photo of one of the cucumber before harvesting. I think they are on steroids.
They sunflowers are very happy. But I can not eat them.
Hey, Lady Red, if you are reading this check out the aloe you gave me. It’s green. At least I am doing something right!
I spent a good amount of time hoeing weeds and riping out the dead corn. At least Lucie, my big red dog enjoyed the fruits of my labor. My back sure did not the next day. She even enjoyed part of a cucumber. What can I say? I am a pushover.
That is it for this week. I just checked the garden and I have three more steroid laden cucumbers growing. If you do not hear from me in a few days, I suggest checking the garden and more pointedly, the cucumber section.

See How My Garden Grows – Summer Series
Well, I know I posted last week about putting shade over my garden. That has not quite happened yet. We had issues with our rental house and had to deal with them. To make a long story short we needed to get tenants in there fast and I am happy to report that we were successful.
Sooo, I was forced to use some old curtains to cover the garden during the day. I will spare you any photos, because, trust me is is not exactly pretty. Let’s just hope that is good enough for now because I do not see the cover going up before next weekend. So here are a few photos before the evil sun tried to make my garden into a crispy pile of leaves.
Beans pre-sunburn.
Still looking green.
Today the asparagus is still looking good. Must like the heavy-duty rays!
Peppers are doing well too.
But here is the best photo. Ta-da! We have corn in the house crate people! Woot! Woot! Thank you, thank you very much!
Oh, and here is a little something I harvested today.
Did I say little? Umm meant big. I see a big cucumber salad in my near future.
Oh, yes we have clouds today. Thank you Lord for the natural shade. Could you send a little rain too?

You Capture – Yellow
This is a Palo Verde tree in bloom. They bloom with these tiny yellow flowers in the spring. Then the flowers drop to the ground and encircle the bottom of the tree. I love how the trees look, but the reek havoc on my allergies.
This was my Mother’s Day bouquet from my daughter, Cinderella.
A pretty, yellow cucumber flower peeking out between two leaves.
Ceramic chile peppers hanging in my kitchen.
My newest apparel purchase. So Southwestern.
One of my many military pins. Yellow ribbon with the Eagle, Globe and Anchor emblem.
The last two photos did not turn out too well. Still learning.
Tomorrow is the last day to enter my $25 Save-A-Lot gift card giveaway. Hurry time is running out!
