File Your Federal Taxes for Free

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of eSmart Tax. All opinions are 100% mine.

Tax time is upon us. The April 15 deadline will be here before you know it. I do not believe anyone really likes paying taxes, but it is the law. Every year Corvette and I go have our taxes prepared. I used to do it myself but I worried I would make a mistake. Well two years ago, we went to a well-know tax service and guess what? They made a huge mistake. They added a few extra zeros to a deduction. At the time we were told we would get a much bigger than usual refund. That should have been a red flag right there, but were excited so we did the question refund.

Everything was great until we received a letter from the IRS saying we owed that money to the government. Luckily we bought the protection plan in case the tax preparer makes a mistake. This proved to be a big problem that resulted in months of hassle while we tried to get the tax preparation service to honor the protection plan. But that is another story for another post.

Of course we are hesitant about having are taxes done, but I think I found a solution. eSmart Tax offers an online filing service and this is the best part. You can file for free your federal taxes. Times are tough for everyone these days, so paying one less bill certainly helps. I know as a mom blogger, I am always looking for ways to save money. I would encourage all you other mom bloggers out to try eSmart Tax.

Now, there is another way to file free. All Johnsons file free. Yes, everyone with the last name of Johnson file for free. This is because the Census Bureau tells us there are 2,121,489 people  named Johnsons in America. In addition, eSmart’s new spokesperson, Daryl Johnson is an eSmart customer from Richmond, Virginia. The name Johnson represents average Americans.

Beside the basic edition that is free, there is a deluxe edition for $9.95, premium edition for $29.95 or signature edition that includes everything and lets you file state taxes for free too! I plan to give this a try this year. If you are like me and want to save some money go check out eSmart.
