I Found It!
My calling that is. I was watching TV this morning and happened to see these women on a talk show. They are the Golden Grannies and they perform at Phoenix Suns games. You have to be at least 50 and willing to get out in front of an audience and shake your stuff. I qualify on both counts. Oh yea, I am pretty sure you need to be a grannie too. Check that one.
I may never realize my dream of taking ballroom dancing lessons but this could be the answer.
What do you think Sgt. Honda? Cinderella? Hippie Guy? (insert crickets chirping sounds here)
You want to see your mama shaking it don’t you?

Music That Moves Me – Need You Now.
I am not the biggest fan of country music but I do like this song. Two guys and a girl make up the band Lady Antebellum. The name is southern and means ‘before the war’ and denotes the time before the civil war.
I am sure everyone has has a “Need you now” moment. Such is love.

Butterfly is the Bomb!
My first and only granddaughter, Butterfly is not only a budding musician, she is now scholar! That is right. Butterfly made HONOR ROLL!!! Not bad for a ten year old. I didn’t do that until college. Probably because I was let’s say. Lazy? Yea, we will go with that.
I am extremely proud of this little girl. I know she works very hard on her school work. I also know it does not come easy for her. The important part is that she tries very hard and that is what it takes to get by in this world.
I do not know what the future holds for her but I am sure whatever it is will be great.
Musician, scholar, candlestick maker? Does not matter.
You go girl! Grandma juliannah loves you and is so proud of you!

Are You Glued To Your Phone?
Apparently yesterday’s Blackberry blackout had a lot of people up in the air. I did not know about it because my Blackberry is out of the loop these days so to speak. I had to switch it down to the cheapest phone plan when I got laid off. It basically receives calls and makes calls. I can’t even text anyone.
I do admit I missed all the features when I had to give them up. It was however not the end of the world. My question is are we too dependent on our cell phones? This question was raised on a talk show I was watching this morning. The hosts all had different answers ranging from “I still have an old fashion answering machine” to “I have always been an Apple person and can not live without it.”
I remember when the new iphone4s came out. People were lined up before the stores even opened. I would like to have an iphone just as much as the next person. But there is no way I will stand in line to get it.
Yes, I miss my cell phone features but I need to eat too!
Just wait until I get another job. I can feel a new Android in my future.

Hanging In.
Still no job for juliannah. Just a few writing gigs here and there. I am hoping for something soon because you can only watch so much mindless TV and take so many walks. At least the weather is conducive to walking. I can take Lucie my big, red dog in the morning and the afternoon. It passes the time and I am getting back into shape.
The hot summer months caused me to turn into a lazy lump. I am not a fan of sweating and how many showers can a person take in one day anyway? Walking the dog and working out has put me into a routine that I needed. It is easy to get off track when life spits those damn lemons at you. So I figure if I have to drink so much lemonade I better be burning off those calories!
Not sure if the mouse is still in my house. The trap remains untripped so I am hoping he took his furry little butt out of here. Please God.
Anyway, still just hanging in.

It’s On!
I made a sandwich the other day for lunch. Nothing out of the ordinary there. I noticed that the next two slices of bread had holes in the middle. I just thought they were caused by an air bubble. It happens. The next day I picked up the loaf of bread and this is what I saw.
Anyone want to take a guess as to what caused that? Yesiree. That would be a MOUSE! And OMG, I ate bread from a loaf after a MOUSE helped himself two a good chuck. My first thought was to ask Lucie my big, red dog how she can chase flies, spiders, lizards, and birds and let a MOUSE get past her keen eye. You know, I can handle flies, spiders, lizards, and birds, but I draw the line at a MOUSE in my house.
So, now the fun starts. First, is it still in my house? Second, if it is then I have to catch it. God, what if there is more than one? I have a feeling this could get ugly. I’ve dealt with the pesky creatures before. One of the first houses I lived in we caught mice for a week straight. I discovered a nest in a drawer of old baby clothes. In my son’s room. He was still a baby at the time. Needless to say that did not set well.
A couple of years ago my granddaughter, Butterfly was visiting. We walked into the kitchen together and saw a MOUSE on my stove. The mouse was eventually caught and disposed of but it was not fun and next time Butterfly visited she wanted assurance that the MOUSE was out of the house.
If you read both posts from that time you will know that the little devil was caught in a trap with no food or bait. So, my only question now is should I try it with food, no food? Should I get poison and have a decomposing MOUSE in my house. One thing is for sure, Lucie is no help. Too busy with flies and lizards.
I’m on my way to buy a new loaf of bread that will reside in the refrigerator and MOUSE exterminating products.
