Training Lucie My Big, Red Dog.

Lucie’s lessons came to an end this past Saturday. Kind of. I decided to continue her training lessons because we both enjoy it so much and she is doing so well. I worked out a payment plan with my trainer and it is something I can afford. But mostly, it is good for Lucie and me. She is so smart and picks up things so fast.

Last week she worked on sitting on the tubs and best of all sitting and staying. I must admit she and I have been working on this quite a bit at home. I put her in down stay and walked away. Sometimes out of sight. So she preformed well at school and earned many a treat from her trainers.

So this week I am training her to sit on command during our walks. The reason for this is if a dangerous situation arises such as another dog appears or whatever the case may be, she will know that I am going to handle it and I am in control. So far, so good. She is supposed to stop amd sit at my side but at this point she only stops when I stand in front of her. She does stop and sit and sometimes lays down. We will get there.

She is getting so much better riding in the car too. Lucie has now claimed the back seat as her own instead of lying across the front seat and gear shift. I have a Volkswagen and it is hard to shift with a 63 pound dog lying across the shifter.

Buddy, my 10-year-old Chihuahua is another story. He has taken to howling constantly, so much so that he is horse must of the time. He freaks when I leave the room and pees on things when I am not there. Last week when I took Lucie for a walk he peed on her bed and my flip-flops. Yea, passive aggressive or what?

So, that is another challenge. Nothing new.

Summertime at the Movies.

A Little Late Fitness Update.

I am a bit late with this but hey, been busy here. My new writing job is going well and my weekdays are filled to the brim. That is the way I like it. Anyway, I am pleased with my progress and even though I kinda slacked a bit this month I still look better and feel better. I am fitting into some smaller jeans and tops that were basically in mothballs in the closet for awhile (not really, I only saved my favorite jeans from years past and I wrote about mothballs in an article.)

So, it is so hot here now that I can only walk Lucie, my big, red dog in the early mornings. That cuts into my workout time as I just can not do both before I go to work. I decided to  alternate days. Work out one day. Walk Lucie the next. That was ok but she needs more walking and I need more working out. That is why I am going to walk her Mon-Fri mornings next week and workout when I get home.

I miss the workout everyday and as I said, she needs her workout everyday too. So the stats from March until now.

Yea, weight is still the same but that number does not concern me as much as what I look like. Waist down an inch, Hips down an inch. Thighs the same thank goodness. Boobs hanging in there.

A few years ago I first heard this song. I decided to make it my theme song. I just heard it again today. I am reinstating it as my theme song again.

I don’t know about dancing in my underwear though.

Another Update on the Dog Training.

My big, red dog Lucie is a star pupil. She consistently performs well despite the fact that the temperatures are soaring here. Last Saturday was low key because it was too much for the dogs. They did the confidence course again. Lucie jumped through hoops, over bars and ran over the ladders.

She made some new advances by getting into a tub of balls, climbing stairs and TA DA!!! She went on the teeter-totter. Of course once it went down on the other side she jumped off. I did not get her on it again but, hey, she tried it. As far as Buddy, he has learned “leave it” and “stay”, although he does not stay as well as Lucie, but it is a work in progress.

Overall, I am very pleased with the progress. I still keep a good eye on them because given the chance Lucie will try to dominate both me and Buddy. Before I go to work Buddy will every morning stand in the back yard. I think that he thinks if he stays out there I will not leave. Sorry dude, if I do not go to work, you do not eat. Me either. Lucie knows I have to go get him every morning. This morning she bolted towards him like to maybe try and herd him. I ended that real quick. Dogs will be dogs.

At least at this point they know they are the dogs and me, I am the pack leader at my house.

Music That Moves Me – Price Tag

When I first heard this song I was driving my car. The beat and lyrics immediately grabbed me and I found myself singing the chorus and swaying to the tune. It really made me want to bust out with the dance moves. But as I said, I was driving. The singer is Jesse J and she comes from across the pond. Her style sorta reminds me of Cyndy Lauper. A little quirky and so darn cute. Nice set of pipes too.

She too knows that girls just want to have fun.

Back to Work.

I think I mentioned on here that my freelance job ended. I’d been really worried about how I was going to make ends meet. I do have extras that I can cut if need be but sometimes I like to watch TV and eat fast food.

Well I am happy to say that I was hired today to write How-To articles. These should be fairly easy and the best part is I will be paid every week. The pay on this job is a little less per article but good enough to give me a good extra cushion. I think the articles will probably increase in time.

The deadline is one day for three articles but after writing 30 articles in a week this will be cake. Oh, and the very best part is I do not have to work weekends. I can actually have time off to do things like take a shower or have a social life (just kidding about the shower.)

When I read the ad it said to send a writing sample and then I would have to write another sample article that would have to be approved before they would hire me. I got an email within about an hour and the gentleman said I did not need to write the sample article because in his words “Your sample shows that you display the ability to create easy to read content.”

So off on another writing adventure and another job to add to my resume.

Rehab? Really?

You know, I am about sick and tired of these people that think it is ok to do despicable things and think somehow it is ok. Then they go to rehab and that is supposed to fix everything. Bull frickin crap! This is not some sort of addiction that can be fixed. It is simply bad character, bad behaviour and mostly, disrespectful to the people that matter most. YOUR family.

What has happened to us? Better yet, why are so many people willing to look the other way? Why do they make excuses for this? Sorry, but I know first hand what this kind of thing feels like. It was not the worst thing that happened to me but it is up there in the top ten. And you know what? The spouse is not the only one that gets hurt. It is pretty sorry to have to watch your child crying on the floor.

Having said that, I hope the next person who thinks they are just having a little fun will get out of themselves and take a look around. You owe your family better than this.

Weiner you are not even worth my time.
