Dogs and Guts.
I wrote about Thanksgiving Day over here. But now I have to write about Thanksgiving night. You see I thought I was being real nice to Lucie, my big red dog, Buddy and Angelina. I got the neck and heart and guts from my mom and proceeded to boil them.
After they were done I let them cool and then cut up the heart and guts. Yuck, but I love my three children pets. So, I then took Lucie outside and closed the door to avoid a food fight (it has happened before). I gave Angie her treat in her bowl on the dryer (keeps dogs from eating all the cat food). Then I gave Buddy his bowl on the floor.
Everybody enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinner. They finished every bit and I thought no more about it. That night I went to bed and so did the animals. Peaceful right? Fast forward to 2:00 am. All of a sudden I hear dogs fighting. Buddy is screaming and and Lucie is growling. Don’t ask me how but I managed to get them apart in the dark. I just could not understand why they would fight in the middle of the night.
Corvette starts yelling, “I told you that dog is nuts!” Yea, thanks for all your help dude. Anyway while I am still holding Buddy and trying to calm him I notice a smell. A distinct smell. Guts. Yes, that nasty gut smell that I refused for years to include it in my stuffing.
I start feeling around Buddy’s body for one to make sure he is not bleeding or injured and all of a sudden I feel it. Guts. Stuck to his neck hair. E gads! I spend the next few minutes pulling guts out of his hair. They must of got stuck when he was eating.
I finally get all the guts out and separate the dogs for the rest of the night and then scrub my hands thoroughly to remove that smell! The next day I bath the dog and spray him with some body spray for good measure.
I do not believe Lucie was trying to hurt Buddy. She just wanted the late night snack that happened to be stuck on his neck. Turkey guts.

Help For Dry Skin This Winter.
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carmex®. All opinions are 100% mine.
Cold, dry winter weather is just around the corner and we all know what that can do to your skin. Drying and chapping can occur and that is just no fun. Carmex® Healing Lotion and Carmex® Healing Cream can help heal your skin and help protect your skin from the winter elements.
I have used Camex Lip Balm in the past and it always heals my chapped lips. There is nothing worse than chapped lips except maybe having chapped lips and skin. Carmex Healing Lotion is a greaseless lotion that helps heal and moisturize your skin, while Carmex Healing Crème can help heal those stubborn dry patches.
I would not mind trying these products because I have a rough, dry patch on my elbow from rubbing on the arm of my chair at work. Sometimes it becomes irritated and itchy.
The Carmex Healing Lotion and Carmex Healing Crème can be found at Walgreens Stores, walgreens.com and drugstore.com. The retail price for each product is $5.99.
You can “Like” Carmex on Facebook and watch for great deals on these and other Carmex products. If you are experiencing dry skin this winter, think about trying Carmex products and start your skin on its way to healing today.

Dogs Need Supplements Too.
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Marvelous Products. All opinions are 100% mine.
As a dog owner, I always want the best for my pets and want to help keep them healthy. So when I was contacted to receive a 60ct bottle of Osteo-Pet Total Joint Care Formula to try I readily agreed.
The formula contains glucosamine chondroitin, which can help reduce joint inflammation in dogs. Methylusulfonymethan, msm for dogs, helps rebuild their cartilage as well as hair, skin and nails. Hyaluronic Acid is helpful to maintain joint tissues. Green-Lipped mussels for dogs help in the repair of dog joint tissues. Vitamin C helps in the repair of tissues when a dog is under stress due to an injury. Vitamin E has anti-inflammatory benefits. Since the original Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM for dogs was successful in treating joint issues in dogs, the new formula is even better.
My dog Buddy is now ten years old and sometimes he has trouble getting around. When he was a puppy, my vet told me that since he is a Chihuahua, he would be prone to arthritis in a later age. I plan to try this product and see if it helps him.
Since dogs cannot talk, they cannot tell you if they are in pain. It is our job as pet owners to observe them and try ascertaining if there is a problem. At the very least, take them to the vet to see if there may be a problem.
Right now if you purchase the Osteo-Pet Total Joint Care Formula, you will receive and additional 10% off that or any other item in the store. The coupon code is OsteoPet77 and is good until 12/31/10. You might want to try the Value Size Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM for dogs.
If your dog is having a joint issue you might want to try this product and see how it works for your pet.
Rocks & Rants
When I came home from work yesterday I went to let my dogs Lucie and Buddy out of their crates. I have to do this right after I walk in the door because trust me, if I don’t the whole neighborhood hears about it.
When I opened Lucie’s crate I noticed she had a bit of an accident. Yes, she pooped. Luckily it was small and easy to reach for cleanup. Well, when I picked it up (with kleenex of course) I noticed it felt hard. Upon further inspection I noticed it was a rock. A ROCK!
I have heard that sometimes dogs eat rocks when they are stressed. She did this when I first resuced her. But, she is anything but stressed now. I might describe her a crazy nut job, but not a stressed crazy not job.
Anyway, I guess I am going to have to supervise her yard time a little better or feed her more. Oh, and of course she had to step on the pile as she exited the crate. Crazy not job that steps in poop.
Now for the rant. Note to Corvette. Next time you decide to burn up a steak in the broiler on one of my pans, PLEASE put foil on said pan!
Oh, and don’t forget to pick up a chisel on your way home.
One more thing, don’t forget to enter my giveaway. There is still time.
