Climb to Conquer Cancer 2010
When my granddaughter was barely four years old, she was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). This is a bit of a summary of the disease. ALL is a fast-growing cancer of the white blood cells. Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cells that the body uses to fight infections. In ALL, the bone marrow makes lots of unformed cells called blasts that normally would develop into lymphocytes. However, the blasts are abnormal. They do not develop and cannot fight infections. The number of abnormal cells (or leukemia cells) grows quickly. They crowd out the normal red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets the body needs.
Needless to say our family was devastated with this news. I won’t go into all the specifics, but about 8 weeks after the diagnosis, Butterfly was in remission and after another two years of chemo and treatment she is now cancer free. I may be wrong on all the specifics, but looking back, the whole thing was a blur and I just operated every day making life good for both Cinderella and Butterfly.
Last year my daughter, Cinderella and Butterfly participated in the Climb to Conquer Cancer 2009. This year they participated again. So here are some great pics of them climbing the mountain for a cure.

Blast Off! Take Off on Your Own Success!
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Allison Maslan, author of "Blast Off!". All opinions are 100% mine.
Everyone needs some extra help at time. These days with so many people out of work, getting help finding a new job or even starting their own business is a welcome prospect. Some people might not know where to start, but Alison Maslan has a new book entitled, Blast Off!, in which she coaches people on life and business.
She has coached thousands of people and now you can get it all in her new book. Blast Off! was launched on January 19 and can be purchased for only $24.00. It is available on Amazon for even less. It is also available at Barnes and Noble and Borders websites and other book stores.
I personally think this would be a great book for me to read right know. I am working hard on my blogging business, but I know extra help certainly could not hurt. Investing in you usually pays off in the end.
So go check out Alison Maslan’s website. She has a video you can watch. I am sure you will be as excited about this book as I am. Especially if you are trying to start a business or just want to make some positive changes in your own life.
Water and Wine
I came home from work yesterday, like every other day, ready to relax and of course blog a little, surf the net and play with my dogs. It seemed like a normal day, but oh no.
Soon after I arrived home my doorbell rang. I really hate when the doorbell rings. One reason is I can not see who is out there. I want a peephole in my door, but so far that has not happened.
I do not like being bothered by salespeople, religious zealots or kids trying to get money for what ever mission they are on. So, I was going to ignore it, but then the person on the other side of the door starting pounding on the door.
I answered amid my dogs howling because for some reason they hate the doorbell. It was my neighbor, who had been working in his front yard when I came home. He said he thought there was a problem with my irrigation system and maybe I would want to look at it. So I did. I also knew immediately what he was talking about because this was not the first time I encountered this problem.
I walked out front and sure enough, the irragation system was shooting water out about six feet and flooding the yard in between our houses and running down the street.
This happened about six months ago. At that time I was home sick from work and I only found out then because another neighbor on the other side was leaving to go to work and saw water shooting out of the irrigation system and turned the water off so it wouldn’t run all day long. He did not know I was home at the time. I found out that day because all of a sudden there was no water in the house.
Anyway, the same thing happened yesterday. The only problem was we could not figure out how to shut off the water. Me, a girl who lets her husband take care of crap like this and my neighbor, who lived in a New York apartment all of his life and knows nothing about stuff like this.
So after both of us are soaking wet from trying to turn the water off, I go in and call the home builders. They send the saleslady from down the street in the model home. Yea, not much help there. She was about on my level as far as any home repair is concerned. So now we have three wet, clueless people standing in my driveway watching water shoot everywhere.
Well, to make this long, wet story short we finally figure out how to shut the water off with the main in the street. I completely forgot about the main! Anyway, the builders sent a handyman and he put a temporary fix on the irrigation system, turned the water back on and told me the irrigation company would contact me about fixing the problem.
So much for my relaxing afternoon. Oh and New York neighbor’s wife decided too give me a bottle of wine so I could relax. Finally.

Don’t Forget Your Vitamins
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of VitaDigest. All opinions are 100% mine.
I take vitamins. Living in this stressful world, I believe the vitamins help me stay on top of things. There are so many differnent vitamin brands that it hard sometimes to pick the right one.
I found a site that can make it a little easier to find the right vitamins. VitaDigest helps you find the right vitamins for you. Currently I am taking One A Day vitamins for Women. Since I am almost out of these I decided to maybe look into something different, VitaDigest has a great search feature. You can search a term such as Menopause, since I am in this part of my life, I was able to find supplements that address that issue.
I was taking hormone replacement therapy, but alas, on my insurance, they are very expensive. In additon, I do not like the side effects caused by these hormones. I found Estropause, Estrogen Support, 80 Liquid Gel Caps, EstroPause. I am going to give this a try and see how it works out. The price is right at $9.98. Plus, they also offer an offer an exclusive 10% off Coupon with coupon code “izb10jan” through the end of February!!! Also, if you place order for over $100.00, shipping is free!
VitaDigest was awarded the INC5000 for 2009 as a top 5000 Fastest growing company. VitaDigest also offers over 13,000 vitamins, supplements, and other health products.
So, Check it out and have a happy and healthful day!

Today
I am not going to sugar coat here. Today has not been a good day. I want my grandson back. I want him back everyday, but today seems harder then some. Today I seemed to feel more pain, not only for missing him but for my Cinderella and my family. I feel it. If some want to be mad at me for this, then so be it. I have refrained from letting my feelings out, but no more. I have feelings too.
Last week I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s Day. No one has ever sent me flowers. Ever. Thank you Cinderella, Tango & Butterfly. I have no words.
This weekend, I planted flowers from Lolly Pop Kid’s service. I decided to do it because it rained and the ground was soft. I never expected the reaction I had. I felt it was happening again.
Today is exactly eight months that we lost our Lolly, it is Tuesday, the day it happened & Cinderella has been married for one month.
I want my grandson back. I am not ashamed to say that.

You Have Came a Long Way Baby!
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.
Even though my kids are grown now I am still interested in products for babies and children. It always amazes me how things have changed from the time my kids were babies. From advice by the doctor to baby products, just about everything is different these days.
Formula used to be standard as there really were only a couple different kinds. Now parents can even purchased organic formula for their infants if the so desire. In addition, parents can choose a store-brand formula that has proven to be nutritionally comparable to name-brand formula.
Recently I learned that PBM, a leading formula producing company, won a $13.5 million damages award against Mead Johnson for falsely accusing PBM’s formula of being inferior to Mead Johnson baby formula. This is a good victory because many parent’s struggle with the cost of formula. In this economy, parents should be able to find affordable formula for their babies.
When Mead Johnson stated that PBM formulas, sold in place like Wal-mart, Target and Walgreens to name a few, where not a nutritional as Mead Johnson brand, Enfamil® LIPIL®, this cause worry for many parents plus the added expense of buying higher price formula.
So now, parents can save up to 50% on formula purchases that could result in saving $600 a year. This is another good way for parents on a budget to save money.

Update on Giveaway & Why I Was MIA
Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile. I got hit with a horrible stomach bug on Saturday and spent Sunday, yes Valentine’s Day in urgent care hooked up to an IV with people poking and proding me. Really fun times. Three and a half hours I finally walked out the door.
I just began eating solid food yesterday, so needless to say I was a little wiped out. In fact yesterday was the first time I was able to sit up for any length of time.
The doctor said there is a stomach thing going around and they have seen a lot of people recently with this bug. Although not as bad as mine. So my aplogies.
The giveaway is still on and will end tomorrow noon mountain time. I will announce the winner on Friday the 18th. Thanks for all entries!
So check back on Friday and see who will receive the $50 Safeway card!
